South-facing windows are excessively exposed to sunlight. It leads to overheating of the room in the summer months. Glass with special sun protection reduces room overheating by 5 °C compared to insulating glass without such protection.
Sun and overheating protection
Excellent thermal insulation
Relatively high light transmissio
Coloured neutral glass allows the natural effect of light in the interior. At the same time, it offers a neutral view from the outside. The combination of optimal sun protection, relatively high light transmission and excellent thermal insulation ensures a pleasant atmosphere in the room in every season.
Standard glass transmits the entire spectrum of sunlight. Solar energy falling on the glass passes into the interior of the room.
It then overheats because new energy is constantly coming from the exterior to the interior, and only a small amount of this energy is transferred from the inside back to the outside. A greenhouse effect is created.
Such solar gains are welcome in the winter months, but they can quickly lead to overheating in the summer and cause an unpleasant climate in the room. Summer thermal protection is achieved by suitable glass with a solar energy control function.
